Not sure what to say?

I had not heard of Don's passing & send along sympathy & love so his family. Don & Shirley were friends of my family through Farm Bureau where I worked with Shirley .. and through his photography business with senior/wedding pictures of my family. In prayer .. Mary Lou (Schmidt) Benson

Mr. Freeman was my government teacher, and he had a commanding, yet friendly manner in thd classroom. He took busload of us to Des Moines to the Capitol. He took our wedding photos, and later when I returned to Waverly and worked for Bremer County Veterans Affairs, he stopped in to discuss prairie graveyards and conservation. My sympathy to his loved ones, a life well lived.

My condolences to his family. Mr. Freeman was an excellent teacher. I remember him teaching us how much you might pay in taxes when you add up all the different agencies taxing you. It boggled my mind. I remember doing "mock trials" in his class. Lastly I remember when he used the term "SNAFU" for situation normal, all fouled up. He was talking about the gov't. I raised my hand and asked him "how could it be normal if it was all fouled up". His answer was "I'll leave you to think about that."

Freeman was one of a kind! Don and Shirl hold a very special place in my heart. I´ll never forget Don´s booming voice and laugh, and Shirley goosing groomsmen at the many weddings I was lucky enough to work with them. A very special couple. RIP Freeman.
