Not sure what to say?

Don was a firefighter who reminded me of the firemen of my father's era. Knowledgeable of the job, friendly, always helpful, never heard him curse. A real role model for the younger firefighters.

For my friend Don BQ

Did not know much about Don until he moved over the warehouse taking charge of all fire station supply needs and equipment. Simple statement is Don was great. Very interested and helpful in the high rise pumping project into the 52 story BofA building on Kearny & California that I supervised. Always pleasant and willing to help. Sorry to know of his passing. s/Tom Murray

Don and his family moved to Millbrae around 1993. Little did I know that our block hit the lottery. Don was the most helpful, reliable friend and neighbor a person could have. Thank you Don for being in our lives these past 30 years. You will be greatly missed by all!

Uncle Don was a big influence on me at an impressionable age. He tought me a lot about life. A good man who will be missed and remembered. RIP.

Don was a wonderful friend. He set the bar high. Don was a wonderful example of how a husband, father, grandfather, and friend should conduct his life. Family first, friends second, self third. Gonna miss you, Don. May you rest in peace. Sincerest condolences to all the Gerhardts.

Jody and I wish to send our condolences to Don´s family Doris, Bob, Jen and Sarah..We will miss Don and his great sense of humor..Rest in Peace my friend

Did not get a chance to work with Don in the field, but when he took over the SFFD Warehouse I had a lot of contact with Don. Always pleasant and easy to work with. Don helped a lot in preparing for the high pressure pumping project at the B of A building on California & Kearny Street. "Good Guy" does not even come close to describing Don. My sincere condolences to the Gerhardt family. Tom Murray

I had the pleasure of meeting Don when he worked for SFFD´s Bureau of Equipment in 2003. I always enjoyed our visits whenever he came to HQ. He was truly a sweetheart of a guy. My sincerest condolences to the Gerhardt Family. Don was special; he left an indelible imprint on my heart.
