Not sure what to say?

Wow!!! Seems only a short, few days ago that Don joined us at WBTV News. And at seemingly warp speed he left to pursue REAL money as a stockbroker. I still recall our newsroom colleagues chiding him about that move. He would simply push that head full of blonde hair aside and flash his patented smile. Then off he would go. We hardly crossed paths after that. But whenever we did, it was cordial and pleasant chocked full of fond WBTV News memories. June 12 marks 20th anniversary that he bid us...

I am finding that I am only beginning to realize how much I relied on his strength, compassion and humor. The manner in which he lived while dying inspires me and his courage in facing the pain, loss and fear, never whining or complaining, humbles me. He will forever be my role model and guide.

Over the years, there were many weeks when I spent an hour with Don. His wit and wisdom helped me through some difficult times. I will miss him.

One of the great joys in my life has been to look at the world through Don Goodwin's eyes. His take on people and ideas was original, perceptive, and often spiked with pointed humor. I will miss his staccato laughter and the many expressions of his keen mind. And I admire the courage with which he stared down the cancer that ultimately claimed his life. His family should know how very proud I was to work with him during his years at WBTV and to call him my friend.

Don was a long-time participant in the Spanish conversation hour at the International House of Charlotte. His language skills reflected his cross-cultural and open-minded thinking, as well as his broad range of interests. He was a good contributor and patient listener. We will miss him very much.

Don was my friend and play writing colleague. I will miss his sharp intellect but that comes from having a large heart. I promised him he'd be the orange in my rainbows, that I would remember how he lived and who he was rather than how he died because during the chapters of his life which I knew him, that'd be more important. I know he'd agree. He's left a great legacy by having wonderful children he was so proud of and kind friends who will never forget him or his smile. The threads of his...

Don was a wonderful person, wise and caring. He will be missed, but will be in our hearts forever.

I enjoyed working with Don for many years. His intelligence and quick wit will be missed in our office. I had great admiration and respect for Don. My thoughts are with you, his family.
