Together with my grandmother, Dorothy, they were the best grandparents anyone could have asked for. Never were they selfish with their time, their love or their willingness to help everyone they knew, and others they did not know. Grandpa was and will continue to be a brilliant example of civility, generosity, patience, perseverance, ingenuity and all the other virtues he exhibited every day of his life. My brief exposure to Don Graf came when I was hired to be Director of Finance in Milwaukie. He was a great example and influence on this "young kid" who was just starting to learn what public service is all about. I thank his family for "sharing him" with so many people over the many years of his own public service.
