Donald Alfred Gurnett

My relationship with Don was based on our common interest in aviation. Don and I were members of several local aviation groups. His explanation of how a wing produces lift - more more thorough than the pedestrian Bernoulli's Principle, is elegant. He recruited me as a tow plane pilot for his glider club but oddly enough I never did tow Don's glider into the air. Don still holds 20 soaring records for Iowa. He taught many local glider pilots to fly.
