HADDOCK, Donald R. –


In honor of the memory of Donald R. Haddock, born March 21, 1945 and left us on July 21, 2021.


Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.


Pastor Chuck Lindsey officiating.


Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.


Visitation 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the funeral home.


He was married to his loving wife, Ann (Shumaker) for 55 years and dedicated father to Jeffrey (Dennile) in South Lyon, MI and Kelly (Chris) in Bloomfield Hills, MI.


He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kayla, Brooke, James and Sloan.


Don was preceded in death by his parents, Euel and Maedonna; also his brothers, Dave and Dennis.


Don truly enjoyed outdoor activities, which included hunting, fishing, boating and riding ATVs. He had a 30-year career as a skilled trade welder with GM and retired with woodworking as his hobby. Don was also a jokester and loved his animals. Don also spent time in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany during the Vietnam war era.


The family wishes to express extreme gratitude to the caring staff at Victoria’s House and all their compassionate caregivers.

My deepest sympathy in the loss of your loved one, Don. Don & I worked together at Grand Blanc Fisher Tank Plant where I was a millwright & he an awesome welder. He was a man whom will truly be missed.

I am what I am today due to you Dad, all of the lessons and things that you taught me I will always treasure and pass along to my kids. Thank you

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. One of my memories was when I was a kid and a whole bunch of my dads (Red Bates) friends went camping at Higgins Lake.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and Don and all the memories we share always. Keep the memories you have close to your heart, and he will always be with you. We’re so sorry for your loss. We love you!
