Donald Davis Haines Jr.

We became friends with Don and Lisa when I was coaching their son, Don, who played for The Hun School football team. They were a warm and wonderful couple! Coincidently, Tony DeLucas, who was Don’s football coach at Washington Township in the 1970s, was my coach at Sterling High School in the early 60s. I was very grateful when Don surprised me by bringing Tony up to Princeton to speak at the banquet after I retired from coaching football.

I coached Dons son, Donald III, in football at The Hun School of Princeton. It was through that relationship that I got to know Lisa and Don II, and learned what a fine family there were. I also learned that Don ll and I had the same high school football coach, Tony DeLucas. Nancy and I also enjoyed visits to the Haines farm in Hopewell!
