What a great memory...miss you buddy!

I was a new believer back in 1969. I went to Boca Raton Youth Ranch camp. I met Donnie there. He encouraged me in my walk with the Lord. I always found him to be funny and full of life.

Donnie was a friend. I knew him from Jr high. We both went to the same church and worked in the same youth ranch ministry. I led the music and Donnie did the the gospel presentation. He did a much better job doing what he did than me at what I did. Every song was F,C ,G. Donnie was an amazing and likable person. Many young people were saved or had a live changed because of him. Out loss is heavens gain.

I met Donny at Boca Raton in the summer of 1969 when I went down with a group from the Atlanta Youth Ranch. He was staying behind because he was going to Florida Bible College. Donny and I exchanged letters after camp. He encouraged me in my walk with the Lord. He was a fun loving, Jesus loving guy. I was happy that he married Leah. She was always the sweetest thing. She used to invite me to Ranch every week in math class. And now Donny knows, he really KNOWS that it is all true.

Donny was my friend for more than 50 years. He was a man of small stature, but his strong values and demonstrated love for the Lord, his family and others made him a giant of a man. I got to know Donny playing flag football in college. What set Donny apart on the field was his quickness and tenacity...he was a competitor and a valued teammate. As our friendship grew, I came to understand those same qualities carried over into his life of service to the Lord. Donny, with his ever-present...

Donny was a great person to be around.He had a great laugh.He was a person that you liked the first time you met him,he will be missed.My prayers are with you Leah.

Fond memories from my early years at FBC. Donny was a a wonderful Christian and became a faithful servant of our Lord.

Donny led the Red Oak Youth ranch and Bible Studies in my home when I was in High School/College. He was a dear friend to my parents. Alway made studying the Bible fun. Miss you my friend. Karen Woodyard Thompson
