My dad Bob Schippers (Portland Police Bureau retired) and Don were good friends. I remember as a young child visiting Don and his family on Sunday afternoons after church.

We got to know Don through Mariners. He was a great friend and we loved him and Bernie and saw Bernie recently. Margie always calls her the cutest little lady there is. She shakes her head. But she is and Don thought so also.
