Donald H. Hanlin

Donald "Don" Hanlin, 66, of Carmel, passed away on January 11, 2011. He was born on June 18, 1944 in Portland, IN to G. Harold and Hazel Grile Hanlin. Don was a 1962 graduate of Alexandria High School and a 1967 graduate of Ball State University. He was an active member of the Ball State University Entrepreneurship Program. He was also a member of the Theta Xi Fraternity, American Tennis Players and the AICPA. Don recently was employed with Precision Rings, Inc and previously with Ernst & Young CPA Firm. He was an avid tennis player as well as an active member of the men's group at his church. Survivors include his loving wife; Sherry Dinwiddie Hanlin; daughters, Molly (Kirby) Schott and Melissa (Jason) Uhrick; grandchildren, Ryan and Lucy Uhrick and Edward, Josephine, Charles and Frances Schott; mother, Hazel Hanlin Glentzer and sister, Phyllis Nickey. Don was preceded in death by his father G. Harold Hanlin. Family and friends will gather on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 4 – 8 p.m. in St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 4780 E. 126th Street, Carmel, IN 46033, of which Don was a member and where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service.
