Not sure what to say?

Mr. Harder was not only a great teacher but also a very funny person. It was so easy to attend his class and learn. I remember my older brother and sister talking about him at dinner and how he was a favorite teacher. He became one of my favorites too. My sympathy his family. Thanks for sharing a wonderful man.

Mr. "Deke" Harger was the reason I became a Biology Teacher (36 years at Hillsdale High School in San Mateo). His sense of humor and interest in the subject helped make my stay at Burlingame High School an enjoyable one. It's a sad day - so sorry.

And he raised a very cool daughter!

i only know Pa Harger thru his daughter Christina H. ~ but feel like i know him well, thru her words and memories of him, and will miss him because of that.

Had Mr. Harger in Earth Science, Fall 1961. I to this day remember him as a great and funny man. He made learning so much fun. Was great on field trips also. I remember him in a red Alfa Romeo. Top down, definitely a cool guy. I was meaning to try and phone him, then found out he passed. Sympathies to all. In my class with him I met a fellow student, one of the finest guys of all time, Dennis Leigh

I loved lunch year book meetings with Mr. Harger. Later, about about twenty- two years later, I enjoyed his visits to Santa Clara University where I was retrained as a science teacher. He shared great experiments and taught me how to implode a can, a skill that another couple of generations of students thoroughly enjoyed. He was a kind and funny man and a wonderful teacher.

Mr. Harger was a humorous, dedicated teacher in the years I knew him. His deadpan humor and obvious love of the outdoors make him unforgettable to me. It's heartening to see so many others are remembering him the same way. All the best to his wife and family. - Chris Kelly, class of '84

Mr. Harger was a humorous, caring teacher in the brief time I knew him duing my years at Burlingame High, 1980-1984. He made science class memorable and clearly cared about us and the school. All the best to his family and friends at this time.

I'am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed all the family dinners at both houses during the holidays. i will cherish he happiness & joyest nature
