Lynne,

Words do not truly express the depth of sorrow we feel at the passing of your husband and our friend Donald. He was a very unique person. Donald could be a character. He could be and was a superb athlete. The soccer and basketball programs at RIC certainly became competitive when Donald enrolled. Donald saw things as they were and you knew where you stood with him. As a result, he earned the repect of everyone who knew him. If he paid you a compliment, you knew it was a...

Dear Lynne,
We were so saddened to hear about the passing of Don. We were so appreciative that he spoke and shared memories of times with our father at Dad's service at the college. Dad had shared so many stories and fond memories of Don throughout the years. We were honored to meet him. We are so sorry for your loss.

With Sympathy,

I will always remember you and Ray coaching those many great basketball teams at Hendricken over the years. I refereed some of those games over those years as a member of RI IAABO Bd 84. Although you and Ray could be tough on refs during the game, after the game was over-win or lose-all was forgiven and forgotten as we shared a beer together. RIP brother Hickey. My sincere condolences to the Hickey family.

Lynne,

Please accept my condolences on the passing of your husband. I am deeply disappointed that I was unable to attend his wake or funeral due to out of town business obligations.

Donald played a huge role in my personal and athletic development during my years at Hendricken, and I attribute much of the success I experienced to his strong and steady guidance. He was great teacher and had a unique way of getting his point across during basketball games – he would squeeze the...
