Not sure what to say?

In my 34 years with GTE there was never a better friend and mentor then Don. I will always remember the great times we had especially at Standing Indian camp ground n North Carolina.
Don was a great scout leader and I’m sure made many friends that loved him dearly to this day.
We all at GTE called him the man with a silver tongue, he was a problem solver, friend and loved by all.

To all his family especially Deloris, Valerie and I send our deepest condolences

Donnie and my father grew up together. I have known him since I was a little boy, over 65 years now. He was my dad's best friend, and all of our family will remember him fondly. Every time we saw him, he always had a smile and a hug for everyone. He was a good man, and there are not too many of those anymore. God bless him. He will be missed.

Bruce Macomber & Family

As a "New Kid" with General Telephone, Co. I was told to report to Calvin Newberger at the Spring Street Warehouse on Monday August 23, 1965. Upon arriving I was told that Calvin was in a meeting and Don Johnson would meet with me and review my new employee packet. I was very nervous and afraid of the unknown. Don came into the room and all my fears left. He put me at ease and talked with me as though he had known me for many years. I never forgot how kind and how much of a gentleman Don...

Our hearts go out to Deloras and her family. Don was truly one of a kind and will be missed by many. I worked with Don for 33 years at GTE and Don was not only a friend but a mentor in my career. I will truly miss him.

A wonderful friend has passed to everlasting life. May he Rest In Peace!

We have such fond memories of the times we were able to spend with Don when we lived in Tampa. Hank shed tears when he heard the brothers were coming to visit and tears when he heard about Don's passing. We are truly sorry for your loss.
