Donald M. Jordan, 83


Donald M. Jordan, 83, of Punxsutawney, died Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Mulberry Square.


He was born December 23, 1939, in Oliveburg, the last remaining child of Faye (Young) and Eugene Jordan.


On November 28, 1959, he married Carolyn A. (McQuown) Jordan, who preceded him in death on January 13, 2017.


Don worked as a Coal Truck Driver and as a custodian for the Punxsutawney Christian School.


He was a member of the First Church of God of Punxsutawney.


Don enjoyed hunting, dirt track races, spending time with his family and taking trips to Benezette to see the elk.


He is survived by four children, son Michael D. Jordan and wife Melinda of Punxsutawney, son William W. Jordan and wife Jamie of Punxsutawney, daughter Catherine Knox and husband Kevin of Covode and son James L. Jordan and fiancé Brittany of New Castle, PA; five grandchildren, Eric Knox and wife Nikki, Kayla Webb and husband Jared, Canaan Knox and wife Ashlyn, Roman Bowser and wife Amanda and Octavia Jordan; two great-grandchildren, Quinnly Webb and Canyon Knox; and a special friend Doris Good.


In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Jacquelyn Jordan and five siblings, Marie Fry, Walter Jordan, Chuck Jordan, Ruth Petroff and Dorothy Nicholson.


Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.  An additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2023, at the First Church of God of Punxsutawney.


A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2023, at the First Church of God of Punxsutawney with Pastor Rob Van Fossen officiating.


Interment will be in Oliveburg Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Don, to the Punxsutawney Christian School, 216 North Jefferson Street, Punxsutawney, PA 15767 or to the First Church of God of Punxsutawney, 23 Skyview Drive, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
