Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Donald John Kasperski, passed away on September 23, 2022 in Sun City, Arizona.

Loving husband, father and brother. Donald is preceded in death by his father Joseph, his mother, Valeria, and his brother Joseph "Sonny". He is survived by his loving wife, Mary of 38 years, his four sons, Don, Tom, John and Nick along with their wives, Diane, Laurie, Romi, and Patti. Two stepchildren, Bobby Welch and Peri Paulton, her husband David. Don's sister Karla Hagan, her son Michael and wife Marybeth. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his former wife Pat Kasperski.

Don was a successful plumbing contractor in St. Louis and a member of the Plumbing and Pipefitters Union 562. He enjoyed working in his garden, playing golf, traveling and socializing with family and friend on our back patio. However, his most favorite place was to be home sitting on the patio watching golfers on the course.

Don enjoyed being the jokester, making people laugh, and grilling on the patio. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and all who knew him.

We are sincerely grateful to the many friends who have given us comfort and support during this time of loss.

Services: Memorial visitation at the FAMILY CENTER at SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 12-4 p.m. Friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

Not sure what to say?

Don had a cute comment like if u would give him a hug he’d say “ I’m married, u know”. A wonderful neighbor and always was at early 7am church!

Homemade eclairs!

If you knew Don, he was the jokester, but his love for sweets was no joking matter. On one of my visits during the pandemic, Don asked if there were eclairs in the house...not a typical stocked item at the house, but also not hard to make! Of course, he protested to not go to the trouble, but I enjoyed making Don his favorite treats when I visited AZ, and he enjoyed eating them! There might have been a couple left for breakfast. Don was a one-of-a-kind man and David, John, and I are blessed...

My condolences on the loss of your dad. I have never met your dad but when I saw his name in the St Louis Post Dispatch obituaries, I recognized his name right away. I heard my parents years ago (I'm 65) talk about their friends "Joe and Don Kasperski" They were friends from high school I believe. Don was in my parents Don and Jean Hoelting's wedding at St Ferdinand Catholic Church in Florissant,MO in 1953. I don't believe they stayed in contact,as what happens with many friendships,as life...

Deepest sympathy! Don was a wonderful man and will be missed.
