Not sure what to say?

It was an honor and a privilege to know such an intelligent, insightful and helpful person. Those of you who knew him know he would never take the compliment. He was so very special, and so very down to earth, such an incredible diagnostician. There will never be another quite like him. No ego, just uniquely wonderful. God bless you Dr. Klein. Nancy Coughlin

Dr. Klein was a noble man. His desire to help others was his life's work. His caring knew no bounds, his judgement was quite simply perfect. How I miss him. God bless you Dr. Klein. Thank you for everything.

My condolences to the Klein family. It was a privilege and an honor to work as Research Scientist at NYSPI and Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital (1979-1982) for Research Director Dr. Donald F. Klein, a visionary in behavioral health. Ilana L. Appleby, Ph.D. Rowayton CT

Dr. Klein was a wonderful man who guided my daughter and she became Dr. Catherine S. Coughlin DVM, a brilliant Veterinarian. When I thanked Dr. Klein for all the help he had given Dr. Coughlin, in true Dr. Klein he wouldn't take the compliment. He said she did all the work. He was very proud of Dr. Coughlin and the first time she went back to see him as a doctor, he came down from his office all the way to street level to show how proud he is of her. They rode up in the elevator together,...

Dr. Klein was an intelligent, wonderful man. It was with his guidance that my own daughter Dr. Catherine S. Coughlin became a doctor. When I thanked him for all of his help, in usual Dr. Klein style he wouldn't accept the compliment. His answer, she did all the work. The first time Dr. Coughlin went back to see Dr. Klein he paid her a great compliment. He came all the way downstairs to street level from his office to escort Dr. Coughlin up to his office. She became a doctor and he was...

Dr. Klein was a dear colleague of my late
father and grandparents, and was a true pioneer in his field. There is no doubt that his clinical research helped improve the lives of millions of people around the world. Nos plus sincères condoléances à Rachel.

It is with deep sadness. Dr. Klein was my mentor for several years, and a friend. He is the reason I have been a successful psychopharmacologist. HE will be missed.

Thank you for giving life to four beautiful and brilliant daughters who have brightened my life. Thank you for your dedication to your field.

If one's children are any indication of the kind of human being one was, let it be added that Donald's four daughters (Geri, Beth, Hilary and Erica) are all accomplished in medicine and the law. He left a vibrant and engaged set of citizens on this earth of whom he deserved to be very proud. I am honored to have known them. May he rest in peace.
