Not sure what to say?

I first met Don in 1985 while exploring GVSU as a school to continue my education. He "kindly" invited my wife and I into his office so we could learn more about GVSU´s Accounting Program and I was sold. Thank you Don! I remember Don as a kind, good person who truly cared for and challenged his students to do their best. I will miss you Don! RIP.

Nate McKenzie considered Don one of his best friends and most of all a fishing buddy. His wife, Julie, and I listened to the fishing stories but never saw a fish. I enjoyed Don's attention to the little things and details when working on a project. He is greatly missed and may he be at peace with our Lord. Pamela McKenzie

I met Don in 1950 when we were freshman at SLUH. WE SPENT A WONDERFUL 4 years together playing baseball and basketball. He´s probably playing bball right now with Jim Kramer (grade school & high school classmate who left us .last year. ) what a wonderful career he had.

Was a student at GVSU. Don was an excellent teacher.

I transferred into Seidman Graduate school from MSU just as Don arrived. What a helpful mentor and brilliant prof. We became friends, business partners in a real estate venture, and loved fishing. I was a CPA manager at BDO and one day Don walked in to the audit room and announced he was the new "junior accountant" assigned to me for the summer!! He handled this with grace. An honor and privilege to know Don, a humble man who loved his family and students. My sympathy to the family.

I met Don in the 1980s while a CPA at BDO and was introduced to the concepts of deploying statistical sampling from him. He was a brilliant mentor and excellent teacher. Prayers for his family as they mourn his loss.
