Heritage Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Sioux Falls Obituary

Donald Edward Kunz, 74, passed away April 5, 2018 at Sanford Hospital. Don was born on December 1, 1943 to Mytle and William Kunz. Don married Connie Kiggins on February 27, 1963, Donald and Connie were blessed with five children. Donald spent many years in the construction field and was a cement finisher for Sioux Falls Construction and many other construction companies. Other times he worked building sheds and picnic tables, he could build just about anything out of wood. He was a painter and a Mr. Fix it Person. If it was broken people called on Don to repair things. In the blizzards he would go around the neighborhood shoveling out driveways and sidewalks. You could also find him helping neighbors with landscaping, plumbing, working on cars and making swings out of tires for the kids.

Donald loved to sit and chat with people, loved to drink his coffee, attend the kid’s birthday parties and would try to make others laugh. Donald also enjoyed attending camping events and fishing with his grandkids.

Don is survived by his wife, Connie; and daughter Laurie.

He is preceded in death by Donnie his son, Mark his son, Kevin his son, and Tina Perrault his daughter.
Visitation will take place for Don at Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 10:00 am with burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Not sure what to say?

A very good uncle! One of the best! He could talk like Donald Duck and had a tattoo of an alligator in a tux! Can't get much cooler than that RIP Uncle Don.

The years I recall knowing you, have gone back quite a ways. Iv always called you family. The memories I have bring smiles and tears. But of all I'm thankful for them, and of getting to meet u. You are already missed. My thoughts go out to ALL family. Connie, your son, daughter, grandkids, and everyone to many to list.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. May the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 comfort your family.
