THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR KIND REMEMBRANCES OF UNCLE DONALD

I was lucky and honored to get to know Mr Lewis when he became a neighbor of my mother on Easy St. Friendly, interesting, proud and most of all humble. How fortunate I was.

So sorry For your loss what a great person we just loved him in Florida. Rest in peace. From Norman and Jackie good. Friends

My husband and I have been visiting Mr. Lewis weekly at Homewood for the past 2 years. It was always a pleasure to see his cheerful smile, and to hear his stories of his earlier life. He never complained, and always thanked us for our visit. We will miss him.

It was a pleasure to be able to know Mr Lewis and his wife. I mowed for Mr Lewis for close to 20 years. Me and my father always looked forward to making his yard look nice and hearing stories weather it be about the store he used to own in Thurmont or going on his moose hunts in Canada. He will be missed!

DONALD WAS A SWEET PERSON. A VERY HARD WORKER AT HIS STORE. VISITED FL IN WINTER, BACK TO THURMONT IN SPRING. ALWAYS SAID THURMONT BANKING GIRLS WERE THE BEST IN HIS WORLD. HE WAS A LOVELY PERSON ALL WAY AROUND.
GOD BLESS
MARK AND JANET LEWIS AND FAMILIES

Donald served as Mayor of Thurmont in 1959 and again from 1961-1964.

Donald was a true gentleman and served our community as both a business leader and as Mayor. He always had the best interest of our community at heart in everything he did. We all have fond memories of Donald and Frieda when they had the corner store. My memories of Donald go back to 1960 when we moved to Thurmont and I cherish each one. He will be missed by everyone whose life he touched.

Sue- you were a loving and supportive niece to your uncle. I was always fond of him and your aunt as well as your mother. They were some of the first people I came in contact with when we located to the Catoctin community in 1965. He was a gracious host to us when we visited his Florida home. A great contributor to the community, he lives on in his legacy. fond condolences Betty and Michael Pue, Jr.
