I remember Colonel Lunday from when I was at Carlisle Barracks. Many warm and endearing thoughts. So sorry to hear of his passing. Certainly he will be sorely missed.

I remember Col Lunday from Mass at Carlisle Barracks and some times at the California Cafe when Tom and Oliver owned it. I did not know him well but he was a familure face from my childhood and he would acknowledge me by stating that I was LTC Thomas son. RIP Col Lunday.

I WORKED FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION FOR 14 YEARS AND ALTHOUGH I DIDN'T WORK DIRECTLY FOR MR. LUNDAY,I DO REMEMBER HOW HE WOULD ALWAYS SMILE AND SAY HELLO IN PASSING. HE WILL BE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. MAY GOD BLESS THE FAMILY IN THIS TIME OF LOSS.

I had the pleasure to work both with and for Don at the department of Eduction,. I met him when he was a staffer in Adult Basic Ed , then worked with him as a division chief and then as a bureau director. In every situation , he was a consumate professional, always courteous and direct. He became my boss after being appointed Deputy Secretary and working for him was as rewarding as working with him. I've worked with a great number of people and rank him among the top 2 or 3 in every...

It is sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Lunday. I did not know know him real well, but my wife and I bought our first home from Don, and I still reference the meticulous notes he kept regarding the house! A true Patriot, men like Don are becoming more and more rare these days. God Bless his family and friends. I count myself lucky to have even gotten to know him a little bit.

I had the honor to work for Don Lunday when he was a bureau director at the Department of Education. I wasn't sure I wanted the job, but everyone who knew Don said how nice he was. Even though the work could be stressful at times, Don had a way of making everyone feel that what they were doing was important and very much appreciated. I feel very lucky to have known him. He was a very kind man that will be greatly missed. My sympathy to the family.

I worked with Don at the Department of Education and he was the best manager and person that I had the honor to know and learn from during my career. Fortunately, I was able to stop and visit with him several months ago and tell him how much respect I and others have for him. Don, in his self effacing way, returned the compliment by saying " you and others made me look good".
Don Lunday, what a fine patriot, friend , and counselor. God Bless him-- real good
