Not sure what to say?

Don was a gentle giant. He was always kind and thoughtful and we just seemed to naturally hit it off when we first met way back in fifth grade. Don told me recently that he was part Irish (I hadn't realized that) and he said that was one reason he was able to appreciate my very "dry" sense of humor. I loved making him laugh! I'm so grateful that we were able to share so many laughs over the years. I have such wonderful memories of Don. He was a true friend and I miss him terribly.

I am so sorry for your loss. Don Mac gave me a chance in this Foodservice industry back in 1986. He was such a charming individual that had such a warm caring and supportive way in managing in the business. His memories will live on forever in all people he has had contact with. I, along with many others, are blessed to have had the chance to know him. My thoughts and prayers for the family.

Ann...I can't believe that such a wonderful person like Don is gone. I will remember him as a warm, sensitive person, who cared about everyone and was so refreshing to work with. I met Don when I went to work at SFC in 1996 and knew him to be a great person, both to work with and to know. He was genuine and kind-hearted. I will never forget him and I feel honored to have known him, if even for a short time. I am still so shocked to hear this sad news! I send you my deepest sympathy. My...

I am so very sorry for your loss. Don Mac was truley one of a kind. I am going to miss my dear old friend Don. He was such a wonderful friend ,boss and mentor . He always had the ability to make my days better in goodtimes and the not so good ones . Knowing him for almost 30 years was a true pleasure and I am greatful for that . Dear Ann,Hermine and Family .
Don was such a wonderful man that always showed his kindness . He had such a wonderful smile , that would always make you feel so good . He will be missed by his friends from S.S.Pierce and Kraft so very much. My deepest condolances.

Don Mac....you will be missed greatly. Always the friendly face in the crowd from the day I met you at Tyson University. I finally got to work with you at SFC and watched as so many followed you to Thurston's. I will always remember you as a great shepherd of people; they loved you and would follow you anywhere. My deepest condolences to Ann and Don's entire family

God looked around His garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
Gods garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb.
so he closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered...

"Big Don" MacFadyen was a key member of our group of our friends on the seventh floor of Noah Webster dorm at UMASS. He would entertain us with this funny stories and more than 30 years later, I can still hear his giggle. Don also arranged for my first summer job as a "hot dog lady" at Tanglewood. He never lost his temper even though I never was able to balance my cash drawer. So many fine memories. Please accept my sincere condolences. Julie Wilk

Dear Ann, Hermine and Family,
What a sad day for us all. Donald and I (and others) have been friends for over 50 years and I just can't believe he is gone. Not only was he a great friend but I don't think I know anyone who was as kind as he was. Our days will be far less bright without his smile.
