Not sure what to say?

Linda, Please know Don's memory is still alive in me. Good friends and the loves of our lives are not forgotten.... Wish I could have known him better, especially after he got the dream of life to fly with Northwest! God bless his memory with tail winds.......

Linda and family: Sadly I join the ranks of suffering a major loss as you have with Capt. Don. My wife of 58 yrs., passed away on 9/11/2024. (Funeral on the 24th). Altho she never new Don, she did know him thru my brief memories. I also noticed an AK Airlines friend Don and I knew has passed - Sue McCubbins. Oft times, people we have known for many years are never forgotten - personalities like Don's - altho I only knew him for a brief couple years, are indelibly stamped in my memories. He...

I am sure Don is still Captain of the ship, flying high beyond the sunset. I will always remember Don for his humor and professional attitude and our many conversations at "the apartment" on L St. in ANC. Continue in rest.

Linda and Family: I was just researching old friends on my laptop and am deeply saddened to read of Capt. Don's untimely passing. I knew Don in Anchorage in 1960-62 when he flew for Alaska Airlines. He encouraged me to pursue a career in aviation. I often loaned him my little Piper Colt airplane. When I left AK it as to attend the AK Airlines flight school. Don and I were good friends along with fellow AKA pilot Jim Wright. So sorry I lost contact with Don over all these years -but I...

Halloween was quite the event in the neighborhood, with full sized candy bars given at the Mackay's. But.....with the risk that you might end up encountering an unexpected "trick". I am pretty sure our youngest son has never fully recovered from a werewolf fright that took Scott 2 blocks to catch him. For YEARS, Craig would cross to the other side of the street on his way past their house.

Also, he played a heck of a godfather at a murder mystery night.

We will miss...

Linda, I’m so sorry to hear of you & your family’s loss. It’s wonderful to know that Don’s life was filled with love and adventure. May your cherished memories console you and bring a smile to your heart during these challenging times.
In deepest sympathy,
Jeanette Carroll Roos

Sincere condolences to you and your family. It is wonderful to read about Don, his love of flying, scuba diving, neighborhood parties and bbq’s and the love he gave to his family. May those memories and more help you thru this difficult time.
