Judge, rest in peace

Our thoughts are with Don's family and friends at this sad time.

Great memories of Don when he lived next door to us while going through law school and at the beginning of his career. May God lift up his family during this time of loss.

I had the honor of knowing Judge Mark for approximately 40 years. I first met Judge Mark as a Police Officer with the Rochester Police Department Vice Squad while getting a Search Warrant application signed. He was not only a Judge but a Teacher to young Police Officers. He was highly respected by all in the Law Enforcement community. My condolences to the Mark family. Rest in peace Your Honor.

Don was a role model to me when I was growing up in Rochester. His wife was our next door neighbor. He always encouraged me to get good grades at Aquinas. When my son went to Cornell Law school, I remember Don graduating and study hard to pass the bar.He was a family friend.

I have many memories of Don Mark. As a Fire Dept. Chaplain I went to many area banquets in the last 50 years and Don was usually invited and we often sat together and mingled in the crowd and enjoyed each other's company. He was great example of a public servant as a compassionate judge. I was occasionally a witness in some cases. Miss you Don, may you enjoy the rewards of glory. Family members rejoice in the faith and example he gave you. Fr. Bill Michatek, retired pastor of Holy Trinity .

A Tribute In Memory of Donald J. Mark

I knew Donald J. Mark not only as a Marine Corps judge and a New York Supreme Court Justice - but primarily for his fellowship in the annual POW/MIA Vietnam Veterans marathon runs. And out of this relationship came a host of big-hearted generosity I never imagined. His home-cooked dinners - after our runs through Monroe County in Rochester - his offers to accommodate me in his home after those gruelling runs - our long-distance telephone...

The Mark Family ~
It was an honour to meet the Honorable Donald Mark through my Sister Doreen, many years ago while employed at Sweet's party House at many of the functions he attended there.
A very sincere, personable and friendly person ~
As an ice cream marathon regimen, his (ove stays close within your hearts ~

On behalf of my older brother, Bob, we knew Judge Mark as a gentlemen, excellent jurist and friend to all. The manner in which he carried himself while on the bench will be missed. He served his country and community his entire life.
