Not sure what to say?

Our sympathy goes out to Don's family and friends. We hope that all who knew him celebrate his life by doing something you love with the people you love in a place that you love. Spokane Mountaineers

I will remember Don's big genuine smile. Though I had not seen him much in recent years, this is what I remember most.

Don was my go to buddy for adventure! We biked, skied, geocached, fly fished and photographed together these past 13 years. We met in the Spokane Mountaineers about 40 years ago and had some great times with the Mountaineers but once we retired we really got busy. Don knew the the best places to photograph old barns, cars and scabland landscapes. I will miss him more than he would have imagined! A true Renaissance man.

The Washington State Veterans Cemetery extends our deepest sympathies to the family of Donald E. Mattoon, Jr. for your loss. We honor him for the service and sacrifice he made for our nation, he is a true hero.

Thank you for your service to our country. Rest in peace.

Field trip to the roundup.

The Spokane Camera Club has lost a creative soul. Don has been a very active member and one of our best photographers. The Wednesday Night Guys will miss you and all raise our glasses in your honor tonight.

I came to love Susan and Becky and they carry on your spirit of love and joy in music. Now you are joining my Terry as a guardian angel which you already did in this life. So you already have training. I understand from Terry that this is a pretty wonderful place. But I so...
