Mauer Family,

We are so sorry to hear about Mr. Mauer passing. He knows how much he was loved by his family and knows that he will be missed.

May the love of God grant you peace,
The love of Friends bring you comfort,
and the love of your dear one live forever in you heart.
Memories keep the one you loved close to you in spirit and thought,
And always in your heart
Today and Forever.
Thinking of you all with deepest sympathy and lots...

The Cardinal family shares condolences with all the Mauers.
May Jake rest in peace...and may all the Mauer family and friends find peace soon!!

I met Jake though my Mankato State College roommate and fraternity brother John Mauer. I was coaching a minor league baseball team at Highland Little League. I bumped into Jake at the tryouts. I said to him that my team had the first pick in the 8-10 year old draft. He pointed at Joe, who was turning 8 in few days. He told me take Joe, he'll be playing in Yankee Stadium before he's done. We took him. He was the best player in the league at 8 yrs. old. Always the handicapper, RIP Big Jake!
