Not sure what to say?

Dear Jeff, Bruce, and your Familys~
How can one say good bye to one onf the most treasured relatives on earth, who is now in Heaven.
I have so many memories of Don when I lived with Aunt Estella and Uncle ARthur Button. He was our mailman and always had time to chat with a smile!
What history of Auburn and it's people that Aunt Estella Button didn't know, Don Button did!
Being a "MAY" has to be SPECIAL!
And I am so very proud to have known and loved Don and to be in...

I really have not met Don or Jo, but know of them from the Westie Club. What a beautiful tribute written by his sons. I regret not knowing him personally after reading all about his life. What a beautiful tribute! Thank you.

Eulogy & Remembrance of Donald R. May
January 14, 2010
By Jeff May

Dad always wished he could attend one of my lectures in the classroom or one of my talks at a professional meeting. I guess this is as close as we’ll ever get . . . Dad – wherever you are, I hope you can hear me today.

I’ve long known this moment would come, and wondered what I might say in remembrance of my father. I guess I would say he was a great man – not a perfect man by any means, but...

MEDITATION FOR AN “OAK OF RIGHTEOUSNESS”: DON MAY

This winter has been a particularly cold one. And January 7th, exactly a week ago today, the day Don May died, was among the coldest days of this cold winter. Somehow that is fitting. For Don exuded a great warmth, and the whole world is a bit colder without his physical presence; his soft words; warm smile and hearty laughter. But we all – especially his sons, Jeff and Bruce, his wife, Jo, and his many, many friends – we all...

My deepest sympathy to Don's family and the "old Auburn" family. My memories of Don go back to him as by bus driver and then on to the years of him running the memorial day observances. I have been reading the roster for many years and will miss Don's call asking me if once again I will be reading. God Bless this great gentle man and his family he will be dearly missed.

Jo, our thoughts are with you. So sorry for your loss. Please accept our deepest sympathy.

Our sincere sympathy to all of you. I'll always remember Mr. May as the friendliest and very helpful mailman when I lived at Auburn Corners. He was special and always friendly with a smile. He will be missed by many, but has left me with fond memories.

My memories of Don go back to our 4-H days. I first met him when we were both counselors at Camp Whitewood, and our paths often crossed while we were both involved in county 4-H affairs. As a 4-H member, Don won about all the awards that 4-H had to offer. Looking through the Auburn High School from the year Sterling was a senior and Don was a freshman, I find pictures of him on the student council, safety patrol, school band where he played the bass horn, conservation club, basketball team...
