Though Vern and I only met Sandy once when you both paid a visit to our house, we immediately took to his kindness and humor. Of course, being TV/media folk, the stories flew fast and funny. Also, as we walked the yard, we never forgot his advice: "Did you know adding coffee grounds to rhododendrons and azaleas helps them grow?" He was right and our bushes have never looked better!
