Ms. Carmen Elena de Lourdes Delgado Ballesteros, "Abuelita de la Nana" of New York, New York, born on August 19, 1947, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, to the late Rosa Vicenta Delgado Ballesteros and the late Pablo de Jesús Delgado Amaya who await for her in heaven. She passed away at age 71 on Thursday, October 25, 2018 in Miami, Florida. She graduated from International Career Institute in 1987 and successfully attained the State of New York Equivalency diploma for high school in 1975. She was in the Food industry at Publix Supermarkets Store 84 in Coral Gables, as a Garde Manger until retiring in 2013. Carmen was preceded in death by her niece baby Julia Layana; and dog, "Kika".

Carmen Elena is survived by her only daughter, Amanda Nova; son-in-law Rubén Nova; brother, Miguel Martínez Ballesteros; sisters, Holanda Delgado, Martha Layana, Angela Delgado, and María Delgado; nieces, Bárbara Penabad, Francheska Layana, Nicole Sepúlveda, Vanessa Estades and Jolie Layana; and nephews, Julio Layana Jr., Oscar Cabeza, Paul Guamán, Anthony Guamán, Carlos Estades, Jacob Layana, Derek Santisteban, and Michael "Mikey" Sánchez Layana.

She also leaves behind her adored furry grandbabies, dog Sophee and rabbit, Bucky. Carmen's hobbies included watching Univision & Telemundo novelas, movies in Spanish or translated by Amanda or Rubén; enjoyed eating out with family, reading cheesy romantic novels in Spanish "Corin Tellado"; she danced until the place shut down, and loved classic Salsa & Merengue music.

Donations in Carmen Elena's name to: American Lung Association, American Heart Association, and American Diabetes Association are welcome and appreciated. Flowers welcomed at church in Arlington, VA or burial in Fairfax, Virginia.

Friends and family members may attend the funeral service, officiated by the Catholic church on Saturday, October 27 from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Memorial Plan Westchester, 9800 SW 24th Street, Miami, Florida, 33165.

A religious funeral service officiated by Rev. Ramel O. Portula, C.I.C.M., Pastor, will take place on Friday, November 2, 2018, from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. at Saint Ann Roman Catholic Church, 5300 North 10th Street, Arlington, Virginia, 22205.

Carmen Elena's resting place will in in Virginia. The burial, officiated by Rev. Ramel O. Portula, C.I.C.M., Pastor, will follow from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Fairfax Memorial Park, 9900 Braddock Road, Fairfax, Virginia, 22032.
