Donald Menard

Lisa, Mark, Brian and Deborah, your Father, Don Menard, was such a gentleman, a very caring person, and he did not want anyone to be in need of anything. I, Clare Brasseaux, learned so much from Mr. Menard: strength to withstand, the ability to cope, and most of all "always forgive". My prayers are with each of you. But as I told myself, "Mr. Don is now in Heaven with Our Father, but he will aways be watching over us."
It was such a pleasure to be a part of Mr. Don's home, a caretaker...

I met Don back when he became a member of the Baton Rouge Model Railroad Club. We shared our fondness for railroading, and also our interest in flight. Don shared many stories about his time flying in B-17 bombers, and his time as a POW. And eventually he met my dad (also a former bomber crewman) who flew out of England during the war.

I felt a loss when he moved to Texas several years ago, as I only got to speak with him a few times over the phone after that.

Don will always...

Don was a happy, wonderful and very generous person! He will be missed! He loved to operate the passenger trains on Lou Schultz's C&O model railroad. We nicked named him Speedy Gonzales ! May his soul rest in Eternal Peace!
