Donald Meyer

I was sorry to learn of Don´s passing. I worked for him when we were with California First Bank beginning in 1985. He was a very kind man and had a great laugh. My deepest condolences to his family.

I will always remember my interview with DFI Commissioner Meyer. He asked challenging questions and he also told me why, because the reputation of the banking system as safe and sound is critical. I must have given him the answers he was looking for because I got the job. That´s when the hard work started but he also believed in recognition for hard work. We will miss him. As will the 4th of July fireworks vendors of Virginia. Among our memories one that comes to mind this summer day was Don's passion for fireworks where he'd annually light up the sky in front of Fassifern, the beloved family home and gathering place in Virginia.
