Before retirement in April of 2013, he had been employed at Merrimack Wayside Furniture, then at the current Bernie & Phyl's Furniture in Nashua , sometimes joking that he spent the last 50 years on the same corner. Donald owned Miner Lawn Care in Merrimack.
As a longtime fixture at the Merrimack Diner he held "court" every morning, and as the unofficial Mayor of Merrimack he kept everyone entertained. Donald was a patron there through 6 owners, and he would joke, that when it would be sold, he went with it.
He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, traveling, gardening and camping at the family reunion grounds.
Donald is pre-deceased by eleven brothers, David, Blakely, Roger, Arnold, Ted, Robert, George, Daniel, Ronald, Harold, and an infant brother Fred; a sister Barbara (Miner) Higgins.
