Not sure what to say?

It is impossible to forget Don Mundinger. Even without memorial dates, I think of him often. He guided me through some tough times and never lost faith when others did. After a straight "A" trancript after the first year at Illinois College, he was responsible for my being admitted to Northwestern University and then the University of Chicago for an MBA. I could never have done this without him.

Hey Muns, Mrs. Mundinger and Family,
I just happened to see your Dad's obit online and wanted to reach out to and your Mom. He was a great guy, despite only having met him those few times. I still remember all the "Illinois College" t-shirts you and I wore at Willamette U. Fun times. Your Dad influenced many lives, that's obvious. Hope you are all well. Will call when we come to Portland and get together.

As always,
John and Darla Jones

Dear Mrs. Mundinger and family: My condolences to you and to your family. I worked with and for Dr. Mundinger for 4 years at IC and learned so much about leadership and respect. I admired his intellect and his incredible patience. I saw him talk with students, faculty, alums and community members and saw the admiration they all felt for him. My best to each of you, Mary (Green) Gray '78 and former Director of Public Information, IC '78-'82.

Dear Mrs. Mundinger and family,
My condolences to your family at this time. To me, Dr. Mundinger stood taller than others in both stature and character. As a young alum living in Washington, D.C., I organized a number of the local IC reunion meetings. Though probably on these whirlwind East Coast trips covering a dozen cities in seven days or so, Dr. Mundinger always made me feel as if he made the trip just for us. He could reach people in that way. He could touch people in that...

June and family,
Don Mundinger changed the course of my life. He came to me and asked me to be on the Illinois College Board of Trustees. I thought he was kidding because I never gave thought to being part of that group of respected persons. I told him he was very brave to even consider me. He prevailed and I was a trustee for 23 years. I traveled to IC three times a year for meetings. I served under Don and two other presidents. Because of his faith in me, I made many new friends and...

Dear Mrs. Mundinger and family......As you already know, Dr. Mundinger was a wonderful teacher. As a high school student in the 50's in St. Louis he challenged me to think, not regurgitate facts. He was an inspiration and a challenger. I remember him with a great deal of admiration and respect.... Judy (Zumbehl)Schill, Durham, NC

Bryan Welch and Dr. Donald C. Mundinger (1982 or 1983)

Dear Mrs. Mundinger and family,

I'm deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Donald C. Mundinger, the greatest President in the history of Illinois College, in my opinion, . Dr. Mundinger was a true leader and inspiration to all who attended or worked at I.C. I remember interviewing him in the fall of 1983 for the Rambler, it was his 10th anniversary at I.C. It was a rather lengthy interview, and provided rare glimpses into his genius. I've always remembered something that he said...

My condolences to the the Mundinger family. Dr. Mundinger was a wonderful person. He did such great things for Illinois College. We are all indebted to him and he will always be remembered with love and respect.

Don was a fine professor and also took a real interest in his students. After all of these years, I can still recall lessons learned from him when I was a student at Valpo.

All of my condolences to his family.
Larry Evans, Valparaiso.
