Rittman - Donald Mutters, 63, of Rittman died Sunday morning, November 7, 2004 at his home. He was born on April 20, 1941 in Cincinnati to Fred and Opal (Harmon) Mutters and lived in Rittman since 1974. He was employed at the Gerstenslager Company in Wooster for 18 years until retiring in 2003. He enjoyed metal detecting, hunting, fishing, and gambling.

He married, Sandy Salmons on September 27, 1962 and she survives. Also surviving are sons, James (Sabra) Mutters of Louisville, KY, Donald T. Mutters of Rittman, and Christopher Mutters of Rittman; daughter, Amanda (Richard) Miller of Rittman; 3 grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Mutters and Pete Mutters of Cincinnati, David Mutters of Orlando, FL, Leroy Mutters of KY, Bobby Mutters of Portsmouth.

His parents, grandson, and a brother, Raymond Mutters, all died previously.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at Gillman Funeral Home, Rittman where friends may call from 5-8 P.M. on Tuesday. Rev. John W. Castle will officiate. Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery.

I did not know Mr. Mutters ,but he must have been a good guy to have raised the kids he had. For this I am greatful, and am sorry for his passing.

In case you do you not remember us, we were employed in the Rittman School System when James, Donnie, Chris, and Amanda were in school. Our sons, Kirk and Frank, were friends of James' in school.
