Donald George O'Brien

Donald George O'Brien Don died on October 25, 2009 at age 77 from complications of an injury, surrounded by loving family. He was a Novato resident for 48 years. Born in San Francisco, Don married his high school sweetheart Virginia Gallegos in 1951. They had two children, Don O'Brien Jr. and Claudine "Cee Cee" Gnat. He retired as Assistant Chief from the San Francisco Fire Department after 26 years of service. He went on to become a top seller for Frank Howard Allen Real Estate. Don's favorite hobby was restoring classic cars, particularly Ford Mustangs. He also enjoyed sports, especially baseball, and was a talented musician, playing saxophone, guitar and piano. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by two grandchildren, Alex Young and Dionicia Gnat. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 30th at Keaton's Redwood Chapel of Marin at 1801 Novato Blvd, Novato.
