Donald Howard Palmer

Donald Howard Palmer, age 81 of Sevierville, a native of Stockton, NY, a wonderful, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, June 16, 2006, at Baptist Hospital. Don served 5 ½ years in combat with the Army Corp of Engineers in World War II and the Korean Conflict. After retiring from a 34 year career in construction he moved from Tampa, Florida, to Sevierville where he has lived for the past 13 years. He will be sadly missed by those who loved him as he was a strong, loving, and Godly man. He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Glenna Palmer, brother Merle Palmer, sister Lucile Palmer, and brother-in-law Ronald Smith. Survivors: Wife of 57 years: Charlene Palmer Sons: Rodney Palmer and wife Peggy, Chris Palmer and wife Colleen Grandchildren: Joshua Palmer and wife Melissa, Micah Palmer and wife Ashley, Aaron Palmer and wife Esmie, Lesley Shea and husband Kevin Great-granddaughters: Bailey, Jasmine, and Faith Sisters-in-law: Carol Northrup and husband Bill, Bunny Gillespie and husband Dave The family will have a private burial at the Florida National Cemetery for veterans in Bushnell, Florida.
