Donald L. Petersen (Don) was born on July 9, 1921 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and died on August 10, 2008 in Mount Vernon WA.
Don served 23 years in the United States Navy and worked his way through the ranks to Chief Warrant Officer before he retired in 1968. Don moved his family everywhere his duty station took him which resulted in world travel for the whole family.
Don's electronics training allowed him to work for Boeing in Renton, WA and for Intel in Oregon where he retired in 1983.
In June of 2008 Don and his wife Charlotte celebrated their 62 wedding anniversary. Don and Charlotte had three sons Paul, Louis, and Clark. Each son also served in the United States Military: Marine Corp, Army, and Coast Guard respectively.
In 1998, Don and Charlotte moved from Portland, OR to Mount Vernon to live with son Lou and wife Kathi.
In his retirement years, Don loved to teach literacy, garden, read, and work out at Riverside Health Club. Because of his positive attitude and willingness to listen, he made friends easily.
His son Paul preceded him in death.
