Not sure what to say?

Don was truly the nicest guy in the outdoor advertising industry. Few know this but when Karl Eller acquired Outdoor Systems inventory in Atlanta, they were housed in Don's office. I will never forget the kindness and generosity he showed my son and family over the years. The time he showed up in the Emergency Room after I had an accident at work. Providing a glowing reference following a career change. Whatever it was, whatever he could do to help, that was Don. ALWAYS, so proud to...

Dearest Joan and Family, May God´s comfort and peace be with you at this difficult time. Michael and I have had you in our thoughts and prayers. I never will forget seeing Don with his suv loaded down with treasures for TOT, that hat and that smile! May all your wonderful memories bring you smiles through your tears.with heartfelt love and deepest sympathy, Michael and Kathryn Loia

I met Don while working for Turner Outdoor hired by Dames and McGinnis in 81. I started in the Outdoor business in 69 with Whiteco industries out of Indiana and finished up in 2016 with Outfront Mnedia. Anyway. Don was a very likeable guy to say the least. I went on a baseball trip to Palm Beach once with Turner and Don was along. That was around 82 I belive. Anyway Don was always laughing and smiling and I went for many years knowing him. I wasn't one of his super close friends but we knew...

Joan--I am so sorry to hear this. Don was, as my father used to say, a 'gentleman and a scholar'. He gave me a beautiful picture (a numbered watercolor print) of the Protestant Cadet Chapel at West Point, saying, "Somebody gave this to me. I went to the Citadel, so I figure you would want this more than me". It was very thoughtful of him. We laughed and talked about our shared memories of a 4th class system as cadets. It still occupies a place of honor on my office wall, and I think of Don...

I never heard anyone make a negative comment about Don Plunkett...that's the kinda guy he was.    I knew him for so long that I can't even remember how long ago I met him, or when or where...it has to be close to 50 years ago.  I think that he just showed up in my life one day and became my friend.  And my friends became his friends and his friends became my friends...that's just how it was. We shared so many good times over the years that I hardly know where to begin.  Trips to Braves...

Joan, I am very sorry to hear about on Don although I have not seen ya'll in about 15 years. My sympathy. John Thompson
