Not sure what to say?

I cannot remember how long ago Don and I first met, but we became close friends immediately. His sincerity, his love for the game, his sense of humor with his ability to not only take a joke but dish one right back. As mentioned by Mr. Bentley, Don always remembered to ask about those who he knew were precious to you. He was willing to do anything he could to help the game, even going out to sell advertising time on his local talk radio bowling news show when there was little personal...

Don will be sorely missed by his many friends in both the Ann Arbor and Jackson areas. He was a man of substance who could be counted on for a gentle reminder not to take life too seriously during times of adversity.

Having known him mostly through bowling, the best things I will always remember about him are that he pretty much accomplished everything he set out to do in his chosen sport, and was a true gentleman and sportsman.

My condolences to his family and friends.

I met Don at Colonial Lanes back in 1991 when I bowled for UofM. Since then, I've had the opportunity to bowl with him in many leagues and tournaments. I was there for his first 300 and he was for mine. I've always looked up to him for his accomplishments in bowling and have the utmost respect for him as a person. The world needs more people like Don. I will miss him very much.

A number of years ago, bowling was the largest participation sport in the US. It's clear, based on previous entries here, that Don used this avenue to build friendships and touch lives. He was no different with me. I had known Don for 20+ years and it didn't make a difference whether it was bowling, or my new son, or something else, he always had an insight to guide me.

We had worked together for a number of years and found that we had a connection outside of our own. As it turned...

We just want to say how much Don will be missed. We have known him for 20 years and he was always such a gentleman. He was a bowling mentor to our youngest son, Todd, and we always enjoyed seeing Don. We extend our condolences to his children--your father will be greatly missed.

We wish to extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to Don's family. I had know Don for nearly 20 years and can honestly say that he was a true friend, had a great heart and did not have one bad bone in his body. He was the true measure of what a great human being should be. Between bowling and working with Don, we had some great times and laughs together. Don also went out of his way and wrote a wonderful letter to the Ann Arbor Bowling Association for me when he nominated me for...

Our condolences to Don's family. Don was a great man, who taught me a lot about bowling and life. I feel very fortunate to have known Don and I can't begin to say what a special man he was. He will be missed dearly by all of whom he touched.
