Donald Rising Jr.

My deepest sympathy is with your family. Mr. Rising was unforgettable. I remember the fun and hard work during our 90-91 basketball season. He touched my life and taught me teamwork, fair play and how to have fun in competition. He was one of those leaders I have measured all others up to.
I hope God gives you the strength to make it through, he will always be with you in your heart. I will never forget him. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Don Rising was a wonderful man!! I too remember when he coached our 8th grade basketball team and had an undefeated season. I played basketball for a long time after SVS and never did I have a coach as good as Mr. Rising. He was the best!! I remember his love for sports and he was always very fair when it came to the team he was coaching. Thank you so much for all the life lessons. I will miss him!!

Words cannot express how sorry I am. I will miss Coach Rising and will never forget all the things he did for me. I wanted to add a little something that made me think of your dad and husband. "So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we are far apart. For every time you think of me, I'm right there in your heart". Thinking of you Coach...

I was so very sorry to hear about your loss. D.R. was a person that touched so many lives. He will be missed by many. I have not seen D.R. in quite a few years but I will always remember playing softball and drinking beer with him. My prayers are with him and the family. It is so sad when God takes someone so young but I can assure you that he had a reason. I pray that God will give you three the strength to get through this and keep the memories of him...
