Donald E. Roberts, 93, of Bangor, passed away on Sunday, June 23rd, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson Campus. Born: on March 11, 1920, in Bangor, he was the son of the late Hugh "Yooks" and Katherine A. (Pritchard) Roberts. Personal: George was the widower of Mildred (Williams) Roberts, who died in 1979. He was employed as a fish culturist at Green Walk Trout Hatchery, Bangor, until retiring in 1985. Prior to that, Donald was employed by Ingersol Rand in Phillipsburg, NJ. He served in the U.S. Army in WW II. Memberships: He was a member of the Presbyterian Parish of Bangor & Roseto, Bangor, PA, where he was active in the church and and served as an elder for many years. Donald was a member of TORA of the Episcopal Apartments. Survivors: daughter Marjorie C. Klein and her husband Bryan, of Bangor; son Steven D. Roberts and his wife Linda, of Spokane, WA; sister Rita Roberts, of Bangor; brother Vernon Roberts, of Nazareth; sister in law Lorene Williams, of Wind Gap; 6 grandchidren Becka Ruggiero and her husband Anthony of Bangor, Lance Klein and his wife Ashley of Bangor, Kip Roberts and his companion Jeff Martin of Illinois, Bryce Roberts and his wife Stephanie of Spokane, WA, Rebecca Roger of Spokane, WA and Sarah Mason of Arizona; 9 great grandchildren Caitlyn and Austin Ruggiero, Emmie Klein, Gareth and Dylan Hopkins, Dylan Roger, Jeffrey, Joshua, and James Martin. In addition to his parents and wife, Donald was predeceased by two sisters Margaret Romano and Elizabeth Reddinger, and two brother William "Yooks" and Sherwood Roberts. Services: will be held at 2pm, Friday, June 28, 2013 in the Presbyterian Parish of Bangor & Roseto, 332 Kennedy Drive, Bangor, PA. Call, Friday, from 1 - 2 PM in the church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery Bangor, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, Bangor, PA. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc., Northeast District, 212 E. Broad Street Bethlehem, PA 18018.
