Donald "Don" Robertson

I only learned of Don's passing today, March 28. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems Don Robertson was on the air at WHHT in Durham (now off the air) in the late 1940's. I was an intern at another Durham station at the time and, although I never met Don, I remember that smooth, resonant, voice and realized he had a great broadcast talent. Don and I were very close friends at Asheville High school and later at Carolina. We competed in everything and I must admit, he beat me in everything from grades to tennis and everything else. We also sang in the same pick-up barbershop quartet. I used to call him "Uncle Hugh". I wonder if anyone remembers that radio show. We lost track of each other after college.
