Not sure what to say?

Don was a sweet and humble man who didn't realize the impact he had on many of us. I worked with Don at Sabino but came to know him better this last year . I feel fortunate to have known him. My condolences to his loving family.

Even though I myself didn't have Don as a teacher, he was my sub for orchestra a few times when Mr. Gregory was out. My brother Scott had him for Choir, and some Sabino Musicals.
We, as an entire family, adored him. Always funny, always there to listen... and care.
A true, warm, compassionate man.
Our thoughts, prayers, love, and sympathy go out to the Smith Family.

My father was Don's barber for many years. I was lucky to catch him from time to time getting a haircut. I was never good at math, but Don was always offering to help me with my homework. Years later my wife and I rented from Don. He was a great guy and always laughed at my silly humor.

'Life may take us on different paths.
We will cherish the memories and the laughs.
We need to remember the impact he made on us all.
He will be sadly missed since he answered God's...

Don Smith was my Calculus teacher at Sabino in 1989. Here is one of my favorite memories of Mr. Smith: In order to stop himself from running out of class time during lecture, he would set his watch alarm to go off five-minutes prior to the bell ringing. One day in the middle of working a problem, electronic music from his watch began to play. He jolted with a start and then proceeded to dance a little jig to the music. We all laughed, including Don.
I have followed in his footsteps and...

Mr Smith was by far the one person that I can honestly say cared about his students. I had the pleasure to be in Mr. Smith Choirs at Sabino and those years are priceless to me. Mr. Smith was one of a kind, and I will always smile when I think of him.
"When The Roads Come Together"....Your spirit will always be with me.

My sympathy to Mr. Smiths family, I was a chior student of his through out my high school years at sabino, he will be missed. god bless

I was fortunate to be a student in Mr. Smith's math classes for two years. He was an inspiring teacher who went above and beyond to help his students understand complicated material. For much of my senior year he came in early every morning to help me grasp Calculus. He was a special person and my deepest sympathy goes to his family and friends.

My deepest sympathy to Mr Smith's family. I was a student of his at Sabino. Almost seems like yesterday! I am sure you have heard these words "Well done my good and faithful servant", enjoy your rewards:)

One of the smartest things I did as Sabino High's math chairman was to steal Don from the fine arts department. He was a wonderful math teacher, my right hand man, and my very good friend. I made sure that both my children had him as a teacher. I loved Don and will miss him.
