Donald Curtis Smith

Private funeral services for Donald Curtis Smith, 81, will be held at 3:00p.m. Wednesday, from the graveside, in Greenlawn Cemetery, with Brian Curtis Smith of Free Chapel, Gainesville, Georgia officiating.  Born November 23, 1938 to Mildred and Alfred Smith, in Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. Smith died Monday, July 6, 2020 at his home in Jacksonville.  He served in the United States Air Force, was a member of the University Boulevard Church of the Nazarene, and was retired Administrative Assistant from CSX Railroad.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma Marie Dillon Smith of Jacksonville; two sons, Leigh Andrew Smith of Sandy Hook, Connecticut and Brian Curtis (Cheryl) Smith of Gainesville, Georgia; a sister, Nancy Smith Frady of Jacksonville; and four grandchildren, Dillon Smith, Amelia Smith, Riley Smith and Emma Smith.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice of N. E.
