Private funeral services for Donald Curtis Smith, 81, will be held at 3:00p.m. Wednesday, from the graveside, in Greenlawn Cemetery, with Brian Curtis Smith of Free Chapel, Gainesville, Georgia officiating.  Born November 23, 1938 to Mildred and Alfred Smith, in Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. Smith died Monday, July 6, 2020 at his home in Jacksonville.  He served in the United States Air Force, was a member of the University Boulevard Church of the Nazarene, and was retired Administrative Assistant from CSX Railroad.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma Marie Dillon Smith of Jacksonville; two sons, Leigh Andrew Smith of Sandy Hook, Connecticut and Brian Curtis (Cheryl) Smith of Gainesville, Georgia; a sister, Nancy Smith Frady of Jacksonville; and four grandchildren, Dillon Smith, Amelia Smith, Riley Smith and Emma Smith.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice of N. E. Thank you Donnie, for your faith, love, friendship, leadership, strength, and your sense of humor. You kept the Hopper Family Reunions going for so many years, and we worry that you are irreplaceable! We wiil see you again one day dear cousin, at a truly spectacular Family Reunion!

Much love and prayers to your family. I will always remember Dons solos and how he sang with such conviction and spirit. What a blessing he has been to so many and such a faithful member of our church. He will be greatly missed.
