Donald Snyder

Professor Snyder taught the majority of my EE classes when I was a student at Wash. U. in the 70's. He treated all his students with respect, and I have never forgotten him or how he helped to prepare us for success in life.

The loss of Don leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him. As we worked together for many years, I was privileged to witness Don´s outstanding professional achievements. But his true essence was in his consistently kind, thoughtful, and unassumingly helpful consideration of others. In our retirement years, he continued as one of my closest friends. Don's pioneering research work was enormously significant to my early career and I still refer to his papers. He was also a personal inspiration. I still remember that about 30 years ago at conference he said to me (with a smile) after a presentation "Jeff, looks like you've done it again." Those kind words from a titan in the field meant so much me as a young person getting started. He will be missed by countless people he touched, and always in our memories.
