Donald M. "Bum" Steer Sr.

The Thomas J. Dougherty Family has lost a dear and loving friend. He will be in our hearts forever, and all the love and knowledge he shared with us will live on through the ages.

Les and I were so sorry to hear of the loss of Don's dad. We did not know your Dad, Don, but reading these entries, I can tell that he has had tremendous influence on the lives of many he touched over the years so that must have been even magnified as it relates to you, his son and Linda, his "daughter". Carol and I are very sorry we could not be with you, our friends, at this difficult time. Please accept our sincere sympathy for your loss.

Throughout one's life a person encounters many people. Only few leave a lasting impression. For us, it was our priviledge to have spent a short time with Don in our lives. There is some comfort in knowing through a time like this that the loss is felt by all.

What a great guy! I worked for Don years ago at Wilson Jewelers in DeWitt. I always enjoyed his knowledge and humor. He has always been well known, respected and liked in the jewelry business

I was sorry to read of your loss in this morning's paper. I worked with Don at Howe Jewelers in the late 60's/early 70's. I remember he always called me Sunshine. Years later when I ran into him in another jewelry store (probably Wilsons) he still remembered and called me Sunshine. Having lost my own father this past year, I understand your grief and am sorry for your loss.
