STEIBEL, Donald R. - Of Linden, formerly of Flint, age 97, died Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.


Funeral service will be held 1pm Saturday, December 3, 2022 at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, 1523 N. Oak Road, Davison.


Reverend Sue Colavincenzo officiating.


Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church.


Visitation 11am Saturday at church until the time of the service.

Donald was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 19, 1925, the son of the late Michael and Marie Steibel. On November 3, 1951, he married Laura Hammond, in Grand Rapids. Donald graduated from the University of Michigan Engineering School. Donald retired from General Motors where he worked as an engineer. He was a set designer, lighting and sound technician for the Flint Community Players and Flint Ballet Theatre. He was a faithful servant at St. Dunstan. Donald loved the Detroit Tigers and U of M football. He was a youth leader at Christ Episcopal Church and a Master Mason for Flint Lodge #23. Above all else, Donald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.


Surviving are sons, Michael (Denise Gates), Kenneth (Linda), Brian (Nora);


many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Laura.

Don and I want you to know how sorry we were to hear of your father's passing. We remember all the good times from Christ Church and watching you boys (and Linda) grow up. It has been many years since we've seen any of you, but know what a good family you had. Don and Barb Kelly

I did not have the pleasure of knowing your father but I'm pretty sure you got your lovely demeanor from him as well as his smile. Hold onto all those lovely memories of Big laughter, hugs, ect.
