Not sure what to say?

I just learned of his passing today from Ed Copeland. The whole family had a large impact on my life. Almost 40 years later I still have the gold pledge in my wallet. My heart goes out to you for your loss. I was blessed to be influenced by such a great family and company at a young age. I remember Karen decorating everything at the holidays and the t-bird he bought. It was a warm wonderful family to work for and I searched that same environment out successfully over my career. He was a...

Just was thinking of Don and saw this. I´m so sorry to read of his passing. I was the Financial Secretary in Cleveland (1992-1997) and Don was the chair of our Finance Committee. He was instrumental in helping us to improve every year. More importantly he was such a fine Christian gentleman with a wonderful attitude and even keeled leadership. Bumped in to him at a conference years later and we had such a wonderful although brief conversation.rest in peace Don.

Karen, Don, Peter and Family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I first met Don back in about 1977. He was a great help to me in my business. Over the years I have quoted him many times and always remembered the sign hanging over his office door and many other lessons he conveyed. He will be missed. Best regards, Jerry Pierce

Karen & the kids, I just yesterday heard of his passing. I have always loved him going back to 1967 when working at Howard Johnson’s Motor Lodge in Skokie as a desk clerk. I have to say that he gave me the opportunity to work for him and learn so much about how a successful business should be run. I believe each of his employees felt the same about him. Although he cane off tough as a boss, I saw through that. I saw a really easy going guy underneath. He was only 29 years old then. So many of...

Dear Allison, I'm so sorry for your family's loss. Please know that you, your father, and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. You're father helped so many people start their careers and provided meaningful opportunities as our generation made their way through college and university. He will be fondly remembered not just in our neighborhood but in the whole region.

We are so sorry for your loss. Our children have grown up with Allison Strang Shaw's children in Washington, DC and we have had the honor of witnessing Don's legacy first hand through the kindness and generosity of Allison and Brent in their beautiful welcoming homes. We know his children and grandchildren will carry on his memory with joy and commitment. With love and prayers from The Macdonald Family

Dear Karen and all the Strang families,
We sat in Don's beautiful garden and watched the loving tribute to a man among men, to a mentor to so many, many people, a true beacon of wisdom, charity and guidance and the loving patriarch to all of you.
The memorial service was so very special and provided a window of sharing and love from extraordinary children and grands. We were fortunate to be touched by his warmth, joy and friendship.
Hugs, Lynn and Al Stohr

My condolences to entire Strang family. I have very fond memories of the years with Strang Corporation in Youngstown, Cleveland and Chicago. Don gave me opportunities that allowed me to grow and prosper in the hospitality industry and while I had not seen him in years, he was often in my thoughts.

My thoughts and prayers now go out to Karen, Donny, David, Peter and Allison and the entire Strang family.
Rest In Peace, Don.

Don is a great loss, I want to extend my condolences to his entire family! I met Don at Don's Fish Market in RR in the 1970's and have many fine memories of him the good times, close friendships established there. When I started my company in 1981 He was my 1st client and continued today. I still have the Keys to the now gone Rocky River, Fish Market location where it all began. RIP Don RIP.
