Not sure what to say?

My name is Jean Florek. My husband, Paul, and I live on Orchard Road on top of the hill in the yellow house. We see Seymour and Muriel once in a while but not as much lately. Anyway, we want to let Seymour and Muriel and the entire Thimsen family know we are thinking of you, we care very much and you are in our prayers. I used to sing with the worship team at MCC so I saw Donald at times but wasn't aware he was Seymour's brother until I read the obituary. Seems the Thimsen parents...

There was a feeling of love and friendship at MCC yesterday as friends and family joined to celebrate the life of Don Thimsen. My heart went out to the brothers and my cousins as they told the story of Dons life. As one of the five pillars that has helped our family stand strong over the years, we said goodbye…for now. My dad, who’s booming base voice used to fill any base section, sang so softly now in tribute to his brothers life. After the service we all gathered in the gym for a dinner...

Dear Thimsen family - my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult season. I wish I could've attended the memorial service today. Blessings, Ginny Olson (Mary's friend)

Many lives have been touched through the life lived by Don Thimsen, I have been blessed as Mary's friend and so I lovingly wish the Thimsen family my sympathy and God's grace and blessings.

Dear Thimsen Family,
Our prayers and thoughts go out to you. Don always reached out to us and many others, putting others before himself. He was a very kind man, full of God's grace, and so humble. He knew God's word like the back of his hand, quoting many verses off the top of his head; he also knew the boundary waters and many other things like the back of his hand! He was always engaging and extremely intelligent, while enjoying the simple things. Children were so special to him...

I can't wait to see my Uncle Don again some day. I miss him deeply. Apart from being my great uncle, he was my Sunday School teacher in my early elementary school years. Whenever I am trying to memorize scripture, I think of him. He taught me to memorize so many verses, Psalm 23 being the longest, in 2nd grade. He made me feel so special and had special prizes for me as I was learning God's Word! I love you, Uncle Don.

I remember our trips to Minnetonka years ago to visit Ingrid and Don. They were wonderful people as was all the Thimsen clan. I celebrate with everyone Don's life on earth and his reunion with Ingrid.

I send my condolences to the Thimsen family with the passing of Don. I have been out of touch with Don and his family for many years, but remember his exemplary spiritual leadership and character at MCC and the kindness expressed to me by Don and Mrs. Thimsen when I was growing up. From the Churchill family on the West Coast, our best wishes to the Thimsens during this time of sorrow. Sincerely, Nathan C. 1/10/07

What a tremendous and loving father. I always felt so much closer than a cousin to him. Both he and Ingrid touched my family's life both tenderly and with the strength of their faith. He is missed, but yet we are so glad that he is at peace with the Lord.
