Donald N. Thurber

I had the great honor of working with Donald from 1975 through 1980 as a teacher's assistant. He was a great man and I have many fond memories of him. I had the pleasure of him asking me to draw the D'Nealean monkeys in the mid 70's which were displayed in every classroom at Rockwood Elementary School. My children, a daughter and twin boys attended the school. My condolences and prayers go out to his family and friends. He has earned his wings in Heaven. ♥♥♥

He was a great man! I still remember he always wore mismatched socks! I was something the elementary school student I was always noticed! My mother painted his monkeys for the D'Nealian writing. Around, down, up, down and a monkey tail was later used to teach my own children. Fly high Mr. Thurber!

Mr. Thurber was a great influence to me as a child. Was always positive, kind and told me that I was bound for greatness. I will never forget him.
