Not sure what to say?

Your dad, Don was such a sweet, happy positive man, your mom Helen was kind and also a delight to sit and talk with. I do not know how to get in touch with their family. But both your parents were a special sweet link in my life's journey. I would sit with them both and then just Don at JP's coffee shop so long ago. I would buddy up with Don at Cross country races where we both would watch and cheer for his grand child and my stepdaughter. Your parents were the link that brought me to...

Don played frisbee catch with me once when I was about 10 years old. After that he was my favorite Uncle. We didn't get to see him often when I was growing up but he and Helen had an outsized impact. I was a country boy but when we visited them in Chicago, my eyes were opened to a whole new world. My father always looked up to Don and I'm sure was at least a little bit inspired by his brother-in-law when he decided to become a Pastor. That no doubt changed the whole trajectory of my life and...

We are so grateful to have known Don from our time at Lakeshore Vineyard during our college and young adult years, and continuing on into our time overseas as missionaries. Don and Helen were unfailingly warm, encouraging, interested, and faithful in prayer and also with financial support. It is hard to imagine us being able to go in the first place, or certainly remain on the field, without the unwavering encouragement from servants like Don. I am sure we are far from the only people to have...

Peaceful Reflections

Don and Helen were very special friends to me ever since they started attending Lakeshore Vineyard Church. They definitely help keep it on track with the Word of the Lord and helped it grow physically and most importantly spiritually. Don's wisdom could never be replaced in especially times of increased stress. They were grandparents to all the children. Parents when needed to all the adults and provided much needed counseling when necessary. I don't think he ever forgot a face as he always...

WE are thankful for having known Reverend Vandenberg since 1982, when he invited us to become full participating members of St. Paul Union Church {nka St. Paul Bible Church}. A true man of God with a gentle and kind spirit. He was a blessing to us, the Magetts

Don Vandenberg was a special friend to me. He was meek and lowly in heart and was a role model to me. He followed Christ teaching (Matthew 11:28-30). He had a Shepherd's heart and cared for his sheep with loving care. In March of 1972 (Ben Johnson lay witness Outreach at Faith Reformed Church) I gave my heart to the Lord Jesus Christ. And shortly thereafter I was called into the ministry of Teen Challenge. Don became a special friend to me until his departure to Heaven. He was always...
